Cool mist humidifier recommendations
Looking for recommendations for an affordable (under $50) cool mist humidifier for baby/toddler bedroom. We had one from Crane and loved it, but wondering if there’s something better out there (though I would repurchase the Crane one!)
Nothing happened to the Crane. It didn’t take a toddler punch, hit the floor, and shatter. Not at all.

It’s a tad more expensive at about $79, but I really like this one from Honeywell. For me, one of the most important considerations is how easy it is to clean. If you are running it all winter, inevitably gunk builds up. I’ve had humidifiers that are so hard to clean because they have nooks and crannies that can’t easily be reached by a sponge. This one has round edges so it’s so easy to clean. Would definitely recommend.

@Anonymoushow often are you changing the filter? I realize a portion of that has to do with where you live/the water but trying to get an idea of how much extra $ we’d be spending to change the filter (vs purchasing a filter-less one)

Not that often, every few months although I’m not totally sure TBH. There’s a few times where I’ve totally forgotten to change the filters and they got super nasty. So it’s definitely an important thing to do. I’ll buy a big thing of filters on Amazon and be set for the winter. Our issue is that we live in an old building with steam heat and the air gets really dry in the winter. Summer time, we’ve got the opposite problem and we have a dehumidifier!

It’s more expensive, but I love the canopy. Filters are easy to replace. There’s not a lot of parts for cleaning. Also, it doesn’t allow for water to sit - it automatically turns on if water is in the system, so risk of mold is low.
